๐ŸŒˆ Community Guidelines

Below is a list of principles we live by as an organization. These guidelines apply to everyone who wishes to engage with us โ€” whether by sharing knowledge or joining open dialogue through the Project PG form. Together, we create a space built on respect, unity, and collaboration.

1๏ธโƒฃ Unity ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
We prioritize unity over division, recognizing that the colonial โ€œdivide and conquerโ€ mentality has historically harmed marginalized communities.

  • Our community rejects tactics that pit groups against each other. Instead, we uplift solidarity across identities, cultures, and movements
  • Collaboration is rooted in respect, mutual support, and the understanding that our struggles and triumphs are interconnected
  • We celebrate diversity while affirming that our collective strength comes from working together, not apart
  • Unity means listening deeply, bridging differences, and building shared futures where love and justice guide our actions
2๏ธโƒฃ Freedom of Expression ๐Ÿ’ฌ
We encourage diverse perspectives, storytelling, and constructive dialogue.

  • Freedom of speech is respected, provided it does not infringe on the dignity or safety of others
  • Criticism and debate are welcome when expressed respectfully and without personal attacks
  • Any comments or posts that spread hate, incite violence, or target marginalized or vulnerable communities will be removed immediately
  • Accounts that persist in promoting divisiveness, hate speech, or violence against marginalized or vulnerable communities will be blocked

3๏ธโƒฃ Reclaiming LGBTQ+ History ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ
Homophobia and transphobia are colonial constructs. Framing LGBTQ+ identities as a โ€œWestern creationโ€ undermines how BIPOC LGBTQ+ communities connect with and celebrate their own cultures. Project PG spotlights phenomenal BIPOC music, films, documentaries, and television that amplify our voices and storiesโ€”reminding the world that weโ€™ve always belonged, and we always will.

  • We celebrate LGBTQ+ identities, histories, and cultures
  • Homophobia, transphobia, or any form of queerphobic language or behavior is strictly prohibited

4๏ธโƒฃ Safe and Inclusive Spaces ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿฟโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿพ
Everyone deserves to feel welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, ability, or background.

  • We prioritize accessibility and inclusivity in both digital and physical spaces
  • Respect personal boundaries and avoid harassment, intimidation, or unwanted contact

5๏ธโƒฃ Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech and Violence ๐Ÿšซ
Hate speech, threats, or incitement to violence are not permitted.

  • Content or actions that promote division, discrimination, or extremist ideologies will be removed
  • We do not allow misinformation that endangers marginalized communities
  • Any comments or posts that spread hate, incite violence, or target marginalized or vulnerable communities will be removed immediately
  • Accounts that persist in promoting divisiveness, hate speech, or violence against marginalized or vulnerable communities will be blocked

6๏ธโƒฃ Collaboration and Accountability ๐Ÿ”—
We welcome contributionsโ€”whether lived experiences, oral traditions, or academic sourcesโ€”that help bring greater visibility to the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community.

  • Third-party partners must embody these values in their work with us
  • Violations of these guidelines may result in removal of content, suspension of collaboration, or termination of partnership
  • We encourage accountability: if harm occurs, acknowledge it, learn from it, and take steps to repair trust

7๏ธโƒฃ Sharing and Engagement ๐Ÿ“ฃ
This is a free initiative โ€” we welcome contributions of knowledge, art, and resources.

  • Share information responsibly, and credit creators
  • Promote dialogue that builds bridges rather than walls

8๏ธโƒฃ Reporting and Support ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ
Our aim is to foster a safe space for BIPOC LGBTQ+ voices. If you experience or witness harmful behaviour on our platform please contact us.

  • We commit to addressing reports promptly and fairly
  • Support resources for LGBTQ+ and marginalized communities will be highlighted and accessible
